The AAMC is working to support all involved in that transition by identifying resources and tools that will help applicants apply more strategically, program directors select more strategically, medical school advisors counsel more strategically, and ensure a smooth transition between an individual’s stages of learning. One of the primary areas of focus within Optimizing GME is an effort to improve the experience and process of a learner’s transition to residency.
